Talk of the Towns: Fall is in the Air

Pumpkin Spiced Lives
I can't believe it's October already! Everyone is running around trying to figure out what they're going to be this Halloween. I may have seen a fully knit costume inspired by the movie Alien, and I may have been a little sad that my kids are too big to let me dress them up anymore.
My mom makes my kids’ costumes every year, and each one is more exceptional than the next. And do you know where she gets 99% of her pieces? The Salt Mine. No joke. That woman can cobble Oscar worthy wonders out of $2 shirts and pants with holes. Can’t find what you’re looking for at the Salt Mine? Try the FieldHaven thrift shop a little further downtown. Super cute stuff, and so affordable! Go thrifting!!!
Apple Hill Street Blues
Everyone from the greater Sacramento area knows that when it hits October, there is one place calling your name... APPLE HILL!!! I haven't been in a few years, but the girls had a few days off school, so we collected a few friends and made the trek. It's about an hour drive from Lincoln. If you're looking at some fun stuff to do, we started at High Hill Ranch, where there was hot cider, lots of apples, a huge pond, super fun vendors, fresh fudge, and both pony and hay rides. You’d think that would be enough, but then we went to Rainbow Orchard for lunch, which had bomb-diggity apple donuts and fresh cider to purchase. I can’t even with how much fun we had! Take a mental health day and go. You’ll thank me later.
Apple Bundles of Joy
It’s somebody’s birthday, it might be you! A big happy birthday to the big guy, Steve Gold, my friend Melissa Fortney, buddy star Tarig Elsiddig, pastor Rich Asche, softball mom Tami Quinn, writer extraordinaire Michele Raskey, and fellow marketing guru Nick Fox.
And a SPECIAL Happy 40TH birthday to one of my besties, Christy Bartow!
Love you all, see you next week!
